In our Garden.....more iconic Australian animals

Mein Spatz has been busy bird watching lately.

The Kookaburra has always been important to me and often appear in a timely fashion when I need to be more mindful and reflective. Their laughing tells me to lighten-up....relax.....this too shall pass......trust yourself.

There is a well known children's song in Australia Kookaburra sits in an old gum tree.

I was so excited to read this post on Still parenting to see that our first foray into 'blog-gifting' was such a success.
A great start to my weekend.
 Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Back to visit ........ maybe he told his friends

Our lovely visitor  the "Christmas Koala" (Mein Spatz's name for him) came to visit again. He was very calm and appeared to know he was safe here. He even took some young, fresh gum leaves from Vati's hand and had a drink out of the red bucket (that we had outside the pool fence hoping that he/they would not have to climb over the pool fence).

A new addition to small world play(found at the charity shop).

I found this wonderful wooden dolls house today at a local charity shop for $15.
It has added another level of interest in the ongoing story of the Fox. Mein Spatz has a "Tomten" who helps to protect the animals and now the Fox is friendly,  and even comes inside.

Second Hand Sunday - New life for a road side freebie

Found on the roadside, ready for our local council hard waste collection.
Water damaged on one side the other a good enough chalk-board and easel.

I covered the damaged side with material.

Works just fine!
We just need Vati to build a shelf for the paint. Wink!

Rise up

For the last two days I have had troubles posting due to difficulties uploading my pictures.
Oh .........How I have missed it.

I wanted to write about friendship and how important it is to share time with the wonderful women in my life.
I hope you are reading this, great women.

Tomorrow night some dear women friends are coming around for the evening.

I have  really wanted to do this for some time but things always got in the way, and would continue too, until I just stopped procrastinating and trying to think about how to make it perfect for everyone.

I just asked them................

Do you want to do this .....?

What night....?

Good all organised!

I only met these women because I became a Mother. Mein Spatz was the key that gave me entry to the wonderful club that is Motherhood.

Most of the time in new social situations shyness and childhood fears can hold you back from approaching people and joining a group or reaching out for friendship. Two years ago I decided to grow up and stop being so scared of rejection and go forward and ask people "Do you want to be friends?".
This paid off.

I do not have a big circle, but it is all I need.

So........I am looking forward to seeing these great women tomorrow night sans children.
